BMW 7 Series

Date: 1 Jul 2009 Comments:0

BMW has introduced the first all-wheel drive 3 Series way back in the 80’s. These days BMW has also stated that they will release the full-size 2010 7 Series sedan. The car has a rear torque bias that helps maintain the handling characteristics. Still, the specialists at BMW haven’t announced plans to adapt the V12-powered 760Li flagship. This standard model is to be named “750i xDrive”.  They have also said that the car will have an “M Sport Package” for all the 7 Series models. This includes lift-reducing aerodynamic cladding, Active Roll Stabilization and anthracite headliner. BMW will also offer Carbon Black Metallic exterior paint and some amazing 20-inch wheels.

Porsche loan rejected

Date: 30 Jun 2009 Comments:0

It seems that Porsche has some financial problems. They are smaller than the larger Volkswagen has but the cash is still a problem for them. Automotive News says the luxury sports car producer has asked a s 1.75 billion euro ($2.45 billion USD) as a loan from the German state bank KFW. It also seems the loan was rejected and now Porsche needs to get the money from somewhere else.  In March, Porsche got 10.75 billion euros ($15.1B) in financing from some banks but now the situation seems harder. They have already looked for money outside Europe, in Qatar. News is still expected.

A team of instructors have created and developed some driver-specific training regimes. Porsche is set on showing just how good the instructors are by putting 12 of them on the treadmill in this year’s Goodwood Festival of Speed. They will observe how fast they can run. The present record for relay runners on treadmills, for over 48 hours, is 495.76 miles. This means that one person gets to run more than 20 miles every day. 2010 Ford Taurus SHO

Date: 23 Jun 2009 Comments:0

It is said that the Americans haven’t paid much attention during the years to the sedans segment. But now, the Detroit 3 have done some models capable to shift that saying. For example, the Cadillac’s new CTS-V is a sport sedan that can become the best in the world. The Pontiac’s G8 GT and GXP are other two excellent examples. Also, Chrysler’s 300C SRT8 and Charger SRT8 are decent sedans too. Oh, and then there is the Ford Taurus SHO. This model follows the 1989-1991 SHO and the 1992-1995 original models. It has 220-horsepower Yamaha-sourced 3.0-liter V6. Also, the shape of the For Taurus’ body is revolutionary. The handsome mid-size sport sedan can compete against Nissan Maximas and some other pricey competitors.

New 2010 Buick LaCrosse

Date: 22 Jun 2009 Comments:0

The car manufacturer General Motors has recently announced that the new 2010 Buick LaCrosse will soon be available. The vehicle will have a fuel-sipping 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder. The new Buick LaCrosse will also be endowed with a direct injected engine and also the sedan’s standard six-speed automatic. With this combination, the GM specialists say that the car will do 20 mpg in town and 30 mpg on the highway. This is a good advantage against the V6-only competitors,  if we think at the Lincoln MKZ. Also, GM says that they expect 25% of the LaCrosse buyers to want the four-cylinder box. We are still waiting for an offical press release.

Plymouth Road Runner’s rebirth

Date: 19 Jun 2009 Comments:0

One year ago, on the cover of the Mopar Enthusiast there was a question about the Plymouth Road Runner’s rebirth. They were wondering whether the car will make a come back. The answer to the question is no. But still, this great car stirs the imagination of the designers like Michael Leonhard, from Austria. He created a Road Runner concept that takes after the 5.7-, 6.1- or 7.0-liter engines. Each of them has a six-speed manual or a six-speed automatic gearbox and also paddle shifters. The wheels in the front have 20-inches and the ones in the rear have 22-inches. Their design combines the old-school nostalgia with the new-school flavor. The Roadrunner logo is beautifully placed between the LED tail lamps. But let’s leave the work speak for itself.
