2010 Nissan Fuga
After years of developing and selling small volumes, Nissan is getting ready the first gas-electric model using in-house technology. The model will be called Fuga and will be a sedan. The car will be sold in North America and will be called Infiniti M. The car will use a conventional automatic transmission, a seven-speed unit. The electric drive is made of a single motor sandwiched between the engine and the transmission. Nissan people say that the engine has an output of 50 kW (67 horsepower) and 270 Nm (200 pound-feet) of torque, and the system is able to propel the Fuga/M electrically at speeds of up 62 mph. The press release also says that the car will be released in 2010.
