Aveo Production On Hold

Unfortunately, due to strong-arm tactics by tire OEMs Hankook and Kumho, GM Daewoo had to delay the production for its Bupyeong plant.
As we all know, this South Koreean plant is producing the Chevrolet Avoe and (probably) the next Pontiac G3.
The supplier asked for a 12% price jump but instead GM went for a preliminary injection as an attempt to force their hand. Even after ratcheting up prices by 5.5% in March, Hankook and Kumho still want higher raw material costs.
Anyway this work stoppage won’t take too long because GM can choose another supplier in a second. Bridgestone and Goodyear are waiting just around the corner.
