BMW M1 Hommage concept
BMW presented in the annual expo of Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este, near Como, Italy a modern interpretation of the legendary sport model named M1. The M1 Hommage Concept is a prototype that celebrates 30 years of history of the german model.
We don’t know any details about the M1 Hommage concept and probably BMW will not present them in the nearest future because the prototype is a simple design of what may look the future M1. It is obviously an M1 with the profile and the frontal part taken from the original model but also with improvements like the aggressive headlights hidden under the hood.
BMW is not the only car manufacturer that wants to restore old models that had a great success. Mercedes wants to bring into the light the name Gullwing, and hope that will have more success than the SLR that will not be produced from 2009 and Audi launched recently the R8 model that had a great history in the auto competitions.
Although we don’t know what will be the future of this concept it is clear that we will meet the M1 Hommage at the next great Motor Shows in Europe. Until then maybe BMW will take the decision to produce in series this model.
