The Italians from Alfa Romeo will present a coupe concept at a accessible price at the Geneva Motor Show. The model in question will be called Alfa Romeo 4C GTA and will be sold at a price of 40,000 euros. Basically, the fans of the Italian car manufacturer will get a more accessible version of the 8C Competizione, which will have a lower level of exclusivity, but will look very well like most models from Alfa Romeo.

Another interesting element of the 4C GTA concept is that it will have rear-wheel drive. The last rear-wheel drive accessible model from Alfa Romeo was Duetto Spider, a model that is no longer manufactured from 1994. Unlike the Duetto Spider, the 8C Competizione has been produced between 2007 and 2008 and had a starting price of 213,000 euros.

According to sources from Alfa Romeo the 4C GTA model will be introduced in production at end of 2012 at a Fiat factory in Italy. The Milan car manufacturer will produce between 20,000 and 25,000 units of 4C GTA in the next five years. The 4C GTA could be introduced also in the United States market, but a decision was not yet taken.

Alfa Romeo has announced a substitute for the 166 model. After a long waiting –period, students at Scuola Politecnica di Design in Milan have drawn their own proposals for this vehicle.

This was no independent job because people at Centro Stile Alfa Romeo and Lorenzo Ramaciotti from Fiat Group design handled the transportation design. What better opportunity for the student to promote their skills?!

At this event, 9 projects were presented by students from Romania, Korea, Russia, Turkey, Brazil, Slovakia, South Africa, US and Italy. Until the projects are being analyzed take a look at one of the proposals in the contest:

Presenting the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, one of the sexiest cars around, not only in my book, but also in the book of a lot of people living in the know. not only is she sexy, but she is fast too, with a 450hp V8 from Maserati. And from what we know, she will be exclusive also, only 500 cars being made and another 500 on the way.
But it seems this is not enough for Alfa Romeo. They want a hotter, faster and more exclusive car. They want to tie 50 more horsepower and lose about 150kg. Some weight plan. These new 8C’s will be made only in 100 copies, to celebrate the 100th birthday since Alfa Romeo has been around. and rumors say this 8C 2 will be based on the Ferrari California. I guess they don’t look up just to any car manufacturer. Cheers for Alfa Romeo!

Not surprisingly, considering that it’s an Alfa Romeo car, it has carbon fiber on the console, instrument panel and the steering wheel. Quite a sporty look for the interior.
