According to the journalists from Autocar, the Americans have developed new methods to reduce production costs of the future generations of the Chevrolet Volt. Moreover, there are rumors that the second version of the Chevrolet electric model could benefit from a new engine, specially optimized to achieve a much better range.

The power resources of the Chevrolet Volt reaches 370 HP and 150 Nm. The sprint from 0-100 km/h is achieved in 9 seconds and the full speed of the the American electric model is 160 km/h. The Chevrolet Volt is kept alive by a lithium-ion battery pack that can be fully charged in eight hours at a source of 120 volts and three hours when it used a 240-volt outlet.

On the company’s website you too can vote for your favorite name. But you should know that the silver paint with a pale green tint will be among the launched colors of the Volt, in November. As of today, the three finalists are: “EV-ergreen” submitted by Devin McQuarrie, San Jose, CA; “Viridian Joule” submitted by Dave Thomas, of Sanford, FL; and “environMINT” entered by Matthew Valbuena, Rancho Santa Margarita, CA. These three finalists will be flown to Los Angeles on December 1 where they will announce the winner.

This fall, the Chevrolet fans will have a new item on the shelf: the Chevrolet Agile. General Motors has released some of the sketches for this car, before the official unveiling of this compact five-door car. The car has Chevy’s two-tier grille, angular headlamps and also a strong shoulder line. The Chevrolet Agile was made entirely in Brazil and the production will begin in a couple of months in GM’s factory in Argentina. A second news regarding the Gamma II-based B-segment hatch says the car will be constructed at the General’s Lake Orion, Michigan facility in 2011. The Agile will have 105-hp 1.4-liter or a 129-hp 1.8-liter and the GM specialists hope it will be a good competitor for the 2010 Ford Fiesta.

We pull back the curtains and what do we see? The brand new and fabulously looking, if I may be allowed to add, 2010 Camaro 2LT RSll with interesting accessories! This interesting sixxer RS from General Motors has the OEM accessory effects package and also 21-inch two-tone wheels. Some say it looks a bit ridiculous but I don’t think so. The dubs and the 1 hoop could appear a overly big and the integrated exhausts may appear excessive. The rear bumper’s cover is squared off but ok. But it is up to you to decide if the accessories are hot or not.

The 2010 Chevy Equinox will hit 32 mpg running down the highway and 22/28 mpg in the city.

Back in January, GM announced with all guns blazing the new 2010 Chevy Equinox and together with it the new new EcoTec 2.4-liter four-cylinder beast. Apparently, this latter will use its direct injection to get 30 mpg on EPA highway cycle.

It’s been 5 months and the engineers continued playing with the calibration in order to win more and more miles per gallon.

The EPA evaluation is far from being finished by even so Brian Goebel, Chevrolet spokesman released a note saying that the Equinox will hit 32 mpg running down the highway. If you cruise into the city the consumption will register only 22/28 mpg.

Start saving money because the Chevy Equinox will hit the showrooms next month.

Chevrolet decided recently to ditch the Corvette body used in GT1 in favor of the GT2- friendly ZR1.

A few images of the new Pratt & Miller Corvette C6.R GT2 have leaked on the Internet and as you can see from the picture below it’s a viable adversary for the new Ferarri, Ford GT, Viper and Porsche models.

This car no longer has a hood window but it sports a revised grille, a large spoiler and new diffuers. Under the hood the car hides a 6.0-liter LS7 that will be replaced starting 2010 by a 500-hp, 5.5-liter race-tuned LS3.

The beautiful Corvettes owned the Daytona 500 podium in the last couple of years but all that is about to change because the new Chevy Camaro is in town.

Last week Chevrolet announced that this vehicle will race at Daytona 500 hoping to become the first Camaro to take the helm since 1969. This SS pace car will hide under the hood a 6.2L V8 engine delivering 426-hp and will boast with PPG’s special Cyber Grey and Orange paint scheme.

The Camaro was born to be a leader and the best proof for that is the fully integrated strobe system that will light the way for all the NASCAR cars that will follow its lead.
