The Frankfurt Motor Show, scheduled this fall, could record an important premiere for Maserati. According to unofficial rumors, there is a possibility of seeing the new Maserati Quattroporte much earlier than we would expected.

The Quattroporte’s successor, named  M156, in the interior of the Italian car manufacturer, will have a design inspired by current the GranTurismo and will have under the hood the current 4.7-liter V8 engine, petrol, fully revised and ready to offer more power, with lower CO2 emissions and reduced consumption. The new Quattroporte could be powered by bigger and more potent engines, but this has not been confirmed by the Italian officials.

Maserati hopes to increase its sales in the next period, to a target of 20,000 units per year. Is a very ambitious goal, considering that Maserati sold only 5675 units last year. To be able to think of such results, Maserati must expand their range of models in the next period.

It is the new Maserati GranCabrio Sport, a model that will get an extra 10 HP and 20 Nm, and that will be powered by an 4.7-liter V8 engine developing 450 HP now and 510 Nm. The new GranCabrio Sport benefits from the contribution of MC-Auto Shift automatic transmission, which debuted last year on the Quattroporte Sport GT-S. With this transmission the GranCabrio Sport manages to reach a maximum speed of 285 km/h, while the average consumption announced by the producer decreases by 6%.

The Maserati GranCabrio Sport brings some aesthetic changes to the classic version of the Italian design: new aerodynamic appendix and ornaments that were previously chrome and are now black.

The new Maserati GranCabrio will be available on the European markets starting this summer, but the price of the Italian supercar are not known at this time.

This new sedan will only be available in Nero Carbonio color version in left- and right- hand drive. The interior is made of Biano Polare Potrona Frau leather and wears a beautiful Centurion logo on the headrests. In addition to all that, the Quattroporte sports 10-inch polish wheels, a dash plaque and a titanium-painted trim.

The Centurian QP will run on a 4.2-liter engine (400hp) or on a 4.7-liter monster delivering 430 cavalli. For the former the price will start at £88,315 ($125,000 USD) while the latter will begin at £94,185 ($133,000 USD).
