The president of Skoda, Winfried Krause, announced at the annual press conference of the Czech car manufacturer that the upcoming city model that Skoda will produce will be based on the Volkswagen Up! model and will offer an outstanding value for money for the customers.
“The car is a response to the growing demand for small cars than have reduced consumption and affordable running costs. The new model will offer us the a great sales potential Europe” said the Skoda official.
The new Skoda version of the Volkswagen Up! will debut on the market as early as next year, and the final design of the new model is still unknown because the prototype Up! has been presented so far in several versions with different numbers of doors and body shapes. The latest version of the prototype is Up! Lite, which has a hybrid diesel-electric propulsion that was based on a two-cylinder diesel engine of 0.8 liter which can lower the consumption to 2.3 liters/100 km.

In order to distinguish the Monte Carlo special edition, Skoda has chosen a red body, that will contrast with the black roof and the 17-inch wheels, also painted in black. The same black color is found on the mirror housings, and at the front grille and at the front headlights background.

The tinted windows hide the interior painted in the same color: black sport seats and dashboard elements. The red stitching could not miss on the steering wheel, hand brake and the gear lever.

Under the hood there will be three petrol engine versions, all based on the 1.2-liter engine. For the diesel fans there will be engine versions based on the 1.6 liters unit. It seems that the special edition will include the sports motoring RS, with 180 HP.

The First appearance of the Skoda Fabia Monte Carlo will be recorded next week, between 19 and 22 January, at the Monte Carlo Rally.

The new Skoda low cost model will be launched at the Moscow Motor Show at the end of this month. Skoda wants to launch the new model in Moscow because is trying to reaffirm its interest in the Russian market.

The new Skoda Sedan is based on the new Volkswagen Polo sedan and will replace the current Skoda Octavia Tour on some markets. The new Skoda Sedan will be available with engines of 1.4 and 1.6 liter on gasoline, but also with the 1.6 liter TDI diesel.

The list of safety features will be quite poor, and the equipment will remain modest. Skoda relies on providing an interior space sufficiently large with a total length of 4.5 meters, and the reliability that has become a tradition for the Czech brand.
The new Škoda Sedan low cost could get the Felicia name, after Skoda abandoned it several years ago.

Also known as the Octavia vRS Limited Edition, this new car wagon or hatchback arrives with either a 170 hp 2.0-liter TDI diesel or a 2.0-liter TFSI engine (200 hp). The upgrades comprises 18-inch alloys, leather interior, an Anthracite paintjob, touch-screen infotainment unit, a three-spoke steering wheel and requisite special badging.

This special premium upgrade will set you back £750 (around $1040 USD) and the UK customers will only be able to buy 500 units before the new Octavia arrives kicking and screaming.

The manufacturer redesigned the front part of the car and added a new front bumper, chrome frame for the front grille, stylish front bumpers, headlamps and new folding door mirrors.

On the inside, the new Octavia has redesigned seats from new materials, a great audio navigation system, new instruments and a stylish armrest with storage compartment.

Under the hood, the vehicle hides five petrol and three diesel engines and a new 1.4 TSI engine with 122 hp (90 kW) and 200 Nm of torque from 1500 to 4000 rpm. Running on this engine, the Octavia can go to 100 km/h (62 mph) in only 9.7 seconds. The top speed is 203km/h (126mph) while the CO2 emissions are 154 g/km and the fuel consumption is 6.6 liters per 100 km (42 mpg).
