The response from BMW was prompt. On the other side of the boulevard, in a very short time a billboard appeared that followed he Audi logic: "Checkmate"

How it all started?

It was in 2006 when BMW published the next ad:

The PR department from Audi responded in short time with the following advertisement that appeared in the newspapers:

Perhaps it would had ended if Subaru wouldn’t have entered the game with the following ad:

The battle of the ads was canceled by an Bentley with an ad that didn’t need any comments:

At the 2009 North American International Auto Show Subaru will celebrate Legacy’s 20th anniversary and will announce the 2010 generation midsize sedan.

The new Subaru Legacy Concept will make its official debut on the market at the North American International Auto Show in 2009.

With this car Subaru is celebrating 20 years of Legacy supremacy on the market and also it previews the 2010 generation midsize sedan.

For the time being all details regarding this event are still a secret and all we have is a picture of the car and a rumor saying that a powerful 3.6-liter flat-6 engine will lie under the hood. If everything goes according to plan, the Japanese manufacturer will have a lot to celebrate in Detroit and we can only congratulate them for the Legacy model that ruled the auto market for no less than two decades. Applause for Subaru!

Subaru Impreza WRX has been updated and improved in order to blow everyone’s mind. The 2009 version of this car is geared up with a retuned 2.5-liter boxer four-pot and produces 265 hp and 18 lb.-ft. increase over the previous model. It also has a five-speed manual transmission and 225/45R17 summer tires.

In case you wonder about its suspension, well you should know that it includes new dampers, better springs and upper strut mounts cribbed from the STI. If until now the Aero package was optional, now the situation has changed. The 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX has an STI-inspired grille on both the sedan and hatch and a STI rear spoiler and underbody diffuser for all five doors.

Stay tuned for more news about Subaru and their street machines.

Now why in the world would anyone spread false news about the new Subaru Impreza? I don’t want to know that and I also won’t jump and guess. Instead I am going to give you the real news about this new car.

Our 2009 WRX will be geared up with a turbocharged 2.5-liter engine and there will be only a manual gearbox version. We will also get upgraded suspensions compared to the 2008 version, an STI-style front grille, standard aero kit and a new grey wheel package, along with red stitching on the steering wheel and seats.

I don’t know about you, but to me the launch of the 2009 model is useless to me. A few horses under the hood and a kinda-new-and-fresh-look just doesn’t get me going.
