The designers at Lotus, the British car manufacturer, are quite used by now to develop cars very quick. They actually do that on regular basis. In the last few years Lotus has been very active in developing electric and hybrid cars. Recently, the Automotive Engineer magazine has approached them on this topic. They discussed on how the cars will look in the next five years. The Lotus design chief Russell Carr has created, after two weeks of work, a  concept car 3.74 inches shorter than the Smart ForTwo and almost 16 inches shorter than the Toyota iQ. Russell Carr has used to the maximum the small space and he squeezed in there four adults. This is one of the sketches. The car will be electrically driven by a liquid-cooled 37 kW motor and also 10 kWh lithium ion battery located under the car’s floor. lotus-city-car-red-charging-big
