PHEV Prius
News from Frankfurt keep showing up. It seems that Toyota is presenting one of the models from the new generation plug-in hybrid Prius. The car will officially be at the show next week but here are some images and details. The hybrid is called PHEV Prius will be equipped with a lithium-ion battery pack and the hybrid synergy drive system has been upgraded for the PHEV. Prius operates in EV mode at speeds up to 62 mph for up to 12.5 miles. Also, it apparently emits about 60 g/km of carbon dioxide. The battery capacity has not been announced yet, but it seems that fully charged it stays up for 1.5 hours. The car will be in stores in 2012.
