Porsche Cayenne Diesel

Time has come for the splendid Porsche Cayenne diesel to become official and announce its availability starting February 2009.

This new model complies with all European regulations and will hide under the hood a 3.0 liter V6 turbo diesel engine from Audi with 240 hp (176 kW) and max torque of 550 Nm. In the combined cycle the fuel consumption will be 9.3 liters/100 km (25 US mpg) while the CO2 emissions will reach only 244 g/km.

According to the manufacturer a hybrid powertrain for the Cayenne is currently under development but once it will be ready (in 2009 or 2010) it will drop below 9 liters/100 km (24 US mpg) when it comes to fuel economy.

The Porsche Cayenne diesel will hit the showrooms in February and people in Germany will be able to buy the Tiptronic-S automatic gearbox- equipped model for 47,250 Euros (almost $60,000) without taxes.
