Porsche Cayenne Diesel

According to some rumors confirmed by Porsche CEO Wendelin Wiedeking, the first diesel-engine by Porsche will be installed under the hood of the 2009 Cayenne SUV.
In translation, this provides no less than 240 horsepower and 406 lb.-ft. of torque. It’s more than enough for any driver.
Zuffenhausen decided not to spend more money on a Porsche-specific diesel engine but instead they invested everything in a hybrid system that will be hit the roads in 2010 under the name of new Cayenne.
Everything can change until then and there’s a big chance that the prototype’s Ni-based unit will be replaced by a Li-ion battery.
