Tata Nano, a small four door Indian car that is rumored to be even sold in USA has passed the European impact testings. Autocar, says that the offset front and side impact test has taken place at the MIRA test center, just last week. All the tests have been done under the clear supervision of an inspector that came from Britain’s Vehicle Certification Authority. Supervisors from Tata company were also there and they said they are not surprised by the test results because the car has passed the same tests in India. Right now, the car is being sold only in India but with this test results, they want to expand the distribution in Europe and North America. They want to upgrade the Nano machine so that it can pass the western crash standards, like European NCAP tests, and the NHTSA requirements.
