Volkswagen GTI is a great car but there’s always room for improvements. According to some people the 250 horsepower delivered by the 3.2L VR6 engine and that how the R-Series appeared.

The R-Series will arrive on US soil under the name of R20 riding Audi S3’s powerplant. To be more precise, the 2.0L turbo engine will now deliver 270hp, with 70 more than the standard model. The powerful engine will now match a standard 6-speed stick or dual clutch DSG transmission to the front wheels.

Also, just like any other front-wheel drive car, the electronic differential on the R-Series will cope with a torque steer.

Stop dreaming about Passat’s 3.6L V6 engine because this 2.0L small turbo will do a great job under the hood of this 2010 VW model.
