Volkswagen Rabbit Will Have Diesel Engine Next Fall

Volkswagen registered high sales for the Jetta TDI and that’s why they decided to include the diesel engines under the hood of many other US models.

Steve Keyes, VW of America Communications Director said that the Touareg will be the next car that will integrate the diesel engine in March or April 2009. Next in line will come the Golf VI also known by the Americans as the Rabbit. This later will sport a 2.0 liter TDI powerplant in the fall of 2009.

If you’re a Tiguan fan you should know that VW decided not to modernize it with a diesel engine anytime soon. In order to do that they’ll have to change the powertrain on the car, and that’s not a viable option.
