VW Is Working On Driverless Self-Parking System

May 19th, 2008 Posted in VW Cars

After they participated at DARPA, VW is working on a system that allows driverless self-parking, according to a source of the German Car Blog. It’s not their first atempt in this area though, as they first started in 1992 for concept cars. But now, they are actually working towards getting them into production.

They’re not the first with this technology, since Toyota has a system that allows drivers to park without touching the wheel. But, the difference is that the VW system doesn’t need the driver to be inside the car when it self-parks.
